When banks did this, we immediately closed our account with a big, national US bank and moved to a local bank whose president lives in our community. Less convenient, more expensive, but worth it. We must leave the big banks and go local. Also, use CASH as much as possible to slow the transition to digital transactions.

“My interpretation of their response is, "we do not want to do this. As soon as they allowed us to, give you access to your account, we did so immediately. It wasn’t our choice,”

Well no, it was your choice actually. Tyranny requires compliance. The way it works is tyrants can't force working stiffs who DGAF to comply. They rely on a closer inner circle of people with something to lose, to comply. Bankers, cops with pensions, and in feudal times, lords, dukes, and knights. They are the "enforcers" of tyranny with the means to do the enforcing. In effect, tyranny doesn't come from the tyrant. It comes from the enforcers of tyranny.

Little has changed in thousands of years.
